PLEASANT VALLEY YOUTH DAY, NY
The Pleasant Valley Youth Day was hosted by the Pleasant
Valley Trout & Game Club. It was designed to get youngsters into the
outdoors and wet their interest for outdoor activity. Youngsters were
given demonstrations on fishing, shooting, hunter safety, etc., and were
allowed to participate in many activities, including Tomahawk throwing.
They even had a contest for the largest trout caught.
We were fortunate to be invited to have a booth to interest
youngsters in survival. We gave various demonstrations, signed copies of
John's book, and got a lot of interest in survival kits and training. One
Boy Scout Troop wants us to dedicate one of our Weekend Survival Courses just
for their Troop. It was a fun day and we really enjoyed helping the
youngsters gain an interest for the outdoors!
