BRUNTON® EXPLORER™ FOLDABLE SOLAR PANEL

Use the power of the sun to run your portable electronic devices. The Brunton® Explorer™ is a Foldable Solar Panel Charger that can be used to directly charge your electronic devices, or can be integrated with Brunton® battery systems (such as the Inspire™ shown below) for off-the-grid power. Thin, lightweight, flexible and portable, the Explorer™ is just what you need for in the field, or when the electric goes out. The Polycrystalline panels provide 1,000 mAh output at 5V, which is the equivalent of charging from your devices current wall adapter. A whopping 90% power capture means charging portable devices like iPods™, Smartphones, and more, is fast and easy. It has an integrated USB output port whereby you can plug your devices directly into the panel for charging, or use the panel to charge power packs like the Inspire™ shown below. I used the Explorer™ in conjunction with the Inspire™ Power Storage Unit at Dirttime 2010 in Wyoming for a week. It kept my cell phone and iPod™ charged with power to spare! It measures Closed: 9.5" long x 5" wide x 1" deep (at the deepest point where the output port is located) - the remainder is only about 5/8" deep. Open: 27" long x 9.5" wide.

Although charge times are approximate and will vary depending on specific devices used and solar conditions, the following are estimated charge times for specific devices based on 1 Hour of sun:

BRUNTON® INSPIRE™ RENEWABLE CHARGER

Brunton's® Inspire™ Renewable Charger is their smallest power pack and has ample stored power to recharge personal electronics multiple times. Now you can use your cell phone, iPod®, digital cameras, GPS, etc. for extended periods without the worry of losing power when you need it. Charge the internal rechargeable lithium polymer battery with the Brunton Explorer Foldable Solar Panel Charger (shown above), or charge at home or in the car and then head out on an off-grid adventure with enough juice to recharge your handheld devices. Available in Orange/Gray or Black/Gray.

The 3,200 mAh internal battery has a storage capacity of 11.8 watt hours; output current is rated at 1,000 mA with an output voltage of 5V. Fully-charged Inspire battery will recharge most cell phones 3 - 4 times, a smart phone 2 - 3 times or a digital music player 3 - 4 times before requiring its own recharge. Both a standard USB and mini-USB outputs let you charge many handheld devices in 1 -2 hrs., such as digital cameras, cell phones, digital music players and GPS devices. Included adapter converts from mini USB female to micro USB male so you can charge your small electronics; you can also use the USB cables provided with your small electronic devices. Inspire includes a 12V power adapter for charging the battery from a car (approx. 3 hrs.), and a built-in USB 2.0 cable lets you recharge the battery via a computer (approx. 6 hrs.) or wall charger (not included). The Lithium polymer battery can be recharged more than 500 times, supplying you with the power equivalent of 1,742 AA batteries.

Monitor your power usage with the LED display; 4 LEDs indicates 75 - 100% power remaining; 3 LEDs indicates 50 - 74.9%; 2 LEDs indicates 25 - 49.9%; 1 LED indicates 0 - 24.9%. Automatic shut-off turns off the Inspire when the charging of your electronic device is complete. Rubberized shell withstands minor impacts and resists water. Measures 4" x 3.2" x 0.6" and weighs 5.5 oz.

One fully charged Inspire will approximately recharge:

BRUNTON® RESTORE™ SOLAR-POWERED CHARGER

The Brunton® Restore™ portable power device is a tough, compact unit that charges iPods, phones, digital cameras, GPS units and other electronic devices, and features two 100 mA polycrystalline solar panel, a durable and water-resistant rubberized shell, power gauge and auto shutoff. The internal rechargeable lithium polymer battery can be charged in a car with the included DC adapter, from a computer or via the sun's rays. The battery stores up to 2,200 mAh and provides 1,000 mA/5V output. Dimensions: 5.5"x3"x1.25" and weighs 8.6 oz. Includes a Mini and micro-USB adapter. Features a power gauge and automatic shut-off.
