Transferable Compass/Mirror Pouch

By John D. McCann

There are various pouches out there that have Velcro flaps on it so it can be put on around a strap... but I haven't found one I like.  However, I have some pouches that I really like as they have a strap over the cover with a Fastex Buckle.  It holds my Suunto MC-2 Global and  my glass signal mirror with retro-reflective grid.  I sewed flaps on each side of the back with Velcro on them.  The flaps can be wrapped back around any shoulder strap.

This is a view of the pouch with the contents.

The flaps bend around back over any size shoulder straps.  Now, instead of having a pouch for each pack, I can transfer this one to the pack I'm wearing.

I like having the ability to transfer my compass and mirror between my various packs, by just transferring the pouch.  Anyway... That's my pouch and I'm sticking to it!
