THE AQUA POUCH™ PLUS - WATER PURIFICATION KIT

When in a survival or emergency situation, or even just hiking, you need the ability to purify water. The AQUA-POUCH™ PLUS, Water Purification Kit provides you with everything you need to purify contaminated water so you can stay hydrated. This kit includes a 1-Liter AQUA-POUCH™ (designed & developed by Survival Resources - see Water Containers, product 17201), 10 Chlorine Dioxide Water Purification Tablets (which are even effective against Cysts such as Cryptosporidium - Iodine & Chlorine are not), 5 Pre-Filters (to prefilter water before purification), a Pre-Filter Support Sheath (another item made exclusively by Survival Resources), as well as directions for use. Our kit provides everything you need and measures 4" wide x 8" tall x 3/8" thick. The expiration date for the Chlorine Dioxide tablets is recorded on the label so you can easily see it. The completed kit is packaged in a heavy-duty 4 mil. zip closure bag and is small enough that you can carry one in every kit or pack.

THE 1 - LITTER AQUA POUCH™

This kit is designed around our 1 Liter AQUA-POUCH™ (Designed & developed by Survival Resources™ specifically for use in survival kits), it is a free standing, zip-closure, water storage container designed for use with water purification tablets. The pouch has a line marked for 1 liter of water for easy measuring when using water purification tablets. This 5.2 mil, extremely sturdy FDA approved food grade pouch, has a gusseted bottom and measures 6.5" wide x 10" high. It can be rolled or folded for easy storage, yet its free standing ability allows for easy filling and pouring. This pouch will hold boiling water (for those who purify water by boiling), and it can be frozen and then thawed by placing in boiling water. Because of the large top opening, you can also place snow in it and carry it between your clothing layers for melting. The AQUA-POUCH™ also has grommets at the top which allow you to attach cordage, such as parachute cord, so you can have a means of transporting the pouch, or attaching it to a pack.

PRE-FILTERS WITH SUPPORT SHEATH

We noticed that various companies included cone coffee filters in their survival kits for pre-filtering water. What they don't tell you is that a cone coffee filter will not hold water unless it is supported. The seams are only pressed together in a corrugated fashion, and those grooves and ridges will only hold together if it is supported. That is why they work in a coffee pot as they are supported by the filter holder. We experimented with various ways to support the filter during use and finally came up with a solution that is effective, yet folds up very flat. We call it the Pre-Filter Support Sheath, made from 6 mil. poly material, and it works very well. The pre-filter is inserted completely into the sheath. The sheath is then placed on top of the AQUA-POUCH™. Because of its unique shape, as long as you hold one of the sides, it sets there and does not fall into the pouch. You then simply pour water into the filter to filter out debris, sediment, bugs, etc. The water flows through holes on the side, which are placed above the seam of the filter, and down into the pouch. This does not purify the water, it only pre-filters it. You are now ready to purify it!

CHLORINE DIOXIDE WATER PURIFICATION TABLETS

Unlike some other water purification tablets, like iodine and chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide meets EPA microbiological water purifier test standards, and is effective against Bacteria, Viruses and Cysts, such as Cryptosporidium. Chlorine Dioxide has no aftertaste and improves the taste and odor of water. It requires a 4-hour treatment time for turbid or cold water. This package contains 10 foil sealed tablets and will purify up to 10 liters of water.
